The time has finally come for Annie to get her hearing aids
We had to do the molds twice because she was so fast and kept ripping them out
I have no idea how we'll keep her hearing aids on because she hates having anything in her ear but I'm glad she'll get her hearing aids sooner than later.
We have started going to deaf events. Thankfully for us the school of the deaf is only 30 minutes away from us (without traffic)

Our first event was going to a deaf book reading.
David got a little bored and didn't know what was going on. Lilah did ok.
We also visited the deaf branch. It was definitely different and I learned new things. Like people sit every other row so that no one blocks their way. And people can talk to other people who are sitting way in the back without any trouble. And singing time definitely looks different. The branch was small but I can tell that they are all very close. I think it's the biggest deaf branch around so I have seen the members come out on the church website and music videos.
We also went to one of their fundraisers. It is weird how quiet it is.
I was definitely intimidated and found myself looking down a lot to avoid people talking to me. They would be a little dissapointed when they asked me if I was hearing.
I want to keep practicing because it's hard for me to understand what people are saying. Mostly because they go really fast.
The kids loves their face painting.
It started raining in the middle of the carnival but thankfully the kids were able to do some of the games.
I want to keep learning so I can teach Lilah how to sign fluently.
We ran in the car to avoid the rain.
Lilah is all about rainbows and unicorns right now.
Lilah also got to attend one of her little friend's birthday parties from school. Joanna was the girl who held her hand when Lilah was nervous about her first day of school with her new teacher. It was about a 45-minute drive but I am glad we got to attend. Joanna has a sweet mom and I am grateful Lilah has good friends at school.
I can tell Lilah loves her school friends.
It was also a reminder of how petite Lilah is. Her friend Joanna turned 5 and Lilah is almost 6 hehe.
David had fun too.
That night as soon as we left the party it rained like never before. I was grateful we left when we did because going over the canyon was a little scary. I hope Lilah always has great friends to do life with.
