Our days of sheltering in place continued. Things got more stricter as the days went on. We were to have face coverings on at all times, even during our walks or while driving in the car. Lilah wasn't really a fan and thankfully it wasn't enforced with little kids. Grocery stores and big department stores were kept anyone from coming in if they didn't have a face mask on. Since masks were so low on inventory and were affecting hospital supplies, they said as long as a cloth covered your face you were fine. Alot of people had ordered N95s from online but now masks, cleaning supplies, and toilet paper? were a thing of the past. Why toilet paper? Who knows!
The community rallied together and seemed to grow closer than ever before. There was chalk art on the side walks, people were putting teddy bears on their windows for little kids to find, and we were all helping each other with supplies for things such as flour, rice, and beans, which had become so scares and hard to find. It seemed like everyone was helping each other out which I had never seen before in my community. There were long lines to get into any store and the wait was long. You were limited on how many supplies you could get and people would get in line long before the store would open. Shelves were empty at the grocery store. The freezer isle was bare. Thankfully people would get boxed items and not fresh fruits and veggies so thankfully those were ok. You'd think during a pandemic people would eat more healthy to boost their immune system but thankfully for us people didn't think like that and there was plenty of fresh produce.
Since restaurants had closed down and were only allowed to do pick up, farmers were having to throw away their crops. Millions of potatoes were wasted. The economy was going down very quickly.
We were all looking forward to general conference. We definitely needed to hear from our prophets and apostles during these times. This COVID had affected everyone from around the world.
It was specially once again to be in my home, with my families, listening to messages that were so needed right now.
(Mike walked out of the room and David started crying, hehe)
We had so much delicious food during conference. We wanted to make it special. I had bought a bunch of treats from the store and we decided to order out to help a restaurant out.
David enjoyed the carne asada fries.
For Sunday morning we had our traditional crepes.
The choir was prerecorded from years past. It was still special and you could still feel the spirit.
Liah waving her handkerchief with the prophet.
The babies played while we listened. I had activities for the babies which kept them quiet for some time but they mostly just played.
Lilah directing the choir.
Then mommy was off to work, sigh.
What a beautiful and special day it was. I love my family!
