I've been wanting to do more activities with Lilah. I want to take advantage of being home with her and exploring new things and new places.
My mother in law had asked me to take them to the airport in Palm Springs and I thought it'd be a great idea to stop by at the zoo while we were there.
I had heard that you could get pretty close to the giraffes and I was excited.
Turns out they were right. This was our first stop since I was really looking forward to feeding a giraffe for the first time.
I had tried feeding a giraffe before at other zoos but I had always missed the feeding times. Here you could feed them all day long.
There were lots of baby giraffes roaming around too. We were able to feed them some carrots. Lilah was a little unsure of the giraffes tongue licking her hand.
She tried it once and then didn't want to have anything to do with the giraffe anymore. You could see the baby giraffe on the bottom trying to get a snack too.
So many giraffes. It was awesome.
Next we went to pet the baby goats. They had horns and I was a little worried but they just laid there while we petted them.
Petting the goat.
Checking out the camels.
The zebras hiding out in the shade.
The desert garden.
Then we went to cool off in the kid's section.
All Lilah wanted to do was turn the fan back and forth.
She stayed here playing with this thing most of the time.
Cheetah.
Lilah has been learning how to sign birds so we got lots of practice that day.
Thankfully the park had lots of shade because it was pretty warm.
Enjoying her snacks while she watched the zebras.
And then we went back to feed the giraffes again, hehe!
This time Lilah was like, no thanks!
We had such a great time at the zoo. I'm looking forward to exploring more places with my girl.
