Mexicali

My mom called me and told me her mother in law had gotten in a car accident. Thankfully it was all ok, but they decided to come down to see her and make sure she was ok. 

Lilah and I couldn't pass up the opportunity of Abuelita being so close so we took a spontaneous trip to Mexicali. 

It was quite the adventure getting there. I was nervous about taking Lilah on a road trip by myself and was worried she wouldn't do well on the car ride. We took off right at nap time and she slept most of the way there thankfully. 

It was hard to get a hold of my mom and I was worried no one would pick us up. After a few phone calls to my aunt, my mom met us right at the border. Lilah and I left the car at a sketchy parking lot in Calexico and walked in the heat to the border crossing. 

It was quite the adventure with my little girl. I was sweaty and getting over the border with round about doors was quite the  sight. Thankfully my mom was there to greet us right at the steps. 

When we made it to my grandmas, some family members were there. They loved hanging out with Lilah since they hadn't seen her since Christmas. 

My mom loved her time with Lilah. Thankfully Lilah was in the best mood and played with her older cousin the entire time. She was loving all of the toys there were there. 

In the afternoon my mom went back to Calexico to meet up with her mother in law. Lilah got to ride like a big girl while we waited in line to cross. Here she is eating my Ruffle chips and sitting like a big girl in the car. 

I was glad Lilah and I decided to make a last minute trip to see family. I always worry about driving with her by myself but I was so happy that she did so great and had such a good time.
