For the fourth of July this year, we had an atypical dinner. I was craving a Mexican Fiesta for some reason so we went down to the Mexican grocery store. An unusual thing happened though, right as we were going to get the carne asada for our tacos, the electricity went out! The whole store went dark and only 1 cash register worked. It was a little scary but the kids stayed close (I love when they listen!) and we were able to make it out of the grocery store without any mishaps.
We ended up with mexican chips, elote, carne asada, guacamole, salsa and chips. It was so good!
I had also made homemade tortillas.
Ethan was feeling a little under the weather so they were not able to meet us up for lunch but they did come over to watch the fire works.
Our matching red shirts.
Robin is such a fun parent. She always has the coolest things for Ethan. She had glow sticks for the kids and they had a great time making necklaces and bracelets.
Annie with her buddy Owen.
Then the kids had a glow in the dark dance party.
Robin is the best! She is a great friend and she also does my hair while my kids run around in her house! She is also a great cook and we love going over to her house so much.
Glow stick dance party time!
Like I mentioned, Robin is the best. She had these wands with her and the kids thought they were the coolest.
Lilah had such a great time, she crashed on the bathroom floor!
The next day, I woke up to David watching a show and he had already made himself breakfast. He made Sacrament bread, Mexican chips, and an apple. I love these kids so much! They are so funny and independent. It's so nice being able to sleep in a little since I'm always tired. Thank you David!
Annie and I outside waiting for Lilah to get home.
Annie, you are too dang cute and fun!
Thumbs up from David while he enjoys his best life.
We were taking care of my neighbor's pool while they were out of town and we hopped on their swing set for a bit.
Annie wanted to be a big girl and go on the swing too.
These next couple of pictures are some of my faves.
"MOM, Lilah kissed me!" Haha! Annie loves Lilah so much. I'm pretty sure that was her first word. She is always calling out for Lilah. Lilah gets her out of her crib, changes her, and sometimes even gets her in the shower without asking!
David is a pretty great big brother also. He is very protective and sweet with little Annie.
I got the kids these electric hoverboards and they love zooming around the backyard with them. It's definitely a new season of life to buy "big kid toys"
Annie LOVES playing in the backyard so much. She could play outside all day long if I let her.
Look at the way she looks at Lilah! Annie loves Lilah so much.
As soon as Annie sees my phone out, she says "CHEESE!" You are so dang cute Annie!
Sharing is caring. What a great big sister.
Lilah helping out in the kitchen.
Lilah knows how to unlock my phone now. So she will just pick up my phone and snap random pictures.
We haven't been able to attend the deaf ward as much as we want but we always enjoy when we are able to go.
Here is Lilah being reverent at church folding her arms, hehe! NOT!
This is one of my favorite dinners. Cream cheese, veggies and noodles.
The kids playing at the park with dad.
Annie is at such a fun and exhausting stage. She is SOO cute!
Some of my favorite pictures of Annie. She loves her berries!
The other day we had the neighborhood kids over for a play date. I saw this fun activity to make chalk paint and it was a total hit!
They played for hours and then we had treats at the end.
David helping baby Annie is always so dang cute.
Haha! I love this picture so much.
The neighborhood kids giving my kids a ride on their four wheeler.
Mike took the kids to a fun event at the library. I love this tiny smile of Annie.
My card wouldn't work at work so someone paid for me.
Mike made the kids a splash play area outside.
They were loving it.
Dangerous bike rides with dad.
Lilah always flashing her "I'm 6!" sign. I can't believe she will be baptized next year. She is always saying she is older already. She wants to be older so badly. She loves standing next to our measuring board and telling me she is taller. She also talks about how she gets to go to the big kid playground at school now and doesn't go with the little kids anymore (TK-K).
Treats for Dad's birthday. The older I get, the less I want to celebrate my birthday. Not really that I don't celebrate getting older because I am so grateful I get to spend another year of health with my favorite people, but I just don't want a party. As long as I am with my kids, that's all I want. My birthday wish every year is just to watch them play together. So anywho, I worked for Mike's birthday this year so he took the kids out for a treat.
I love how Annie is always ready for a picture.
It's the shifty eyes for me
These three kids are my world. I dream of going on family vacations with them and for them to be successful and happy when they are older. They are so much work and some days bicker and fight all day long but when they play nicely together, it's like hitting the lotto.
