Bear Lake

This year's Stewart family reunion was in Bear Lake. I was so excited to go there since I had never been. It took us 2 days to pack the truck.

The babies did so good traveling there. We took 2 days to get there. I had bags full of treats and bags full of activities.

We made it to grandma's and she had toys and clothes for the kids.

I sat on the hammock and it broke, haha! Poor David fell right on my lap. Here is Mike fixing it.
It was so nice visiting with family outside in the nice weather.
Lilah helping grandma water the grass in her new skirt.

Luckiest babies to be so loved.

I watched a video about a girl doing someone's hair and decided to try it on Priscilla. It came out pretty cute! I did her hair and she did my nails.
David sleeping with his butt up in the air.
Lilah with her new headband, shirt, and overalls.
You know it's 2020 when you gather around as a family to make masks.

We finally made it to the cabin. I was in charge of this year's family vacation. I was so nervous about it so I had to get there before everyone else to make sure everything was good to go. We also stopped for food in Logan to have breakfast and lunch stuff for everyone. Every family was in charge of making dinner for one of the nights we were there.

I was pretty scared to see how small the bedrooms were. I was hoping have enough room for cots in the rooms since there weren't enough beds so this was super scary. It did make for people getting upset which started my not so fun week at Bear Lake.

Lilah loved all of her cousin time. This was called the cousin room.
The first day we went on a nice hike about 15 minutes from our cabin. Everyone seemed to enjoy it. I had planned out activities for us to do so that we wouldn't stand around but I was so nervous people wouldn't like them or complain the entire time. Thankfully this one worked out.

Because of COVID I was so nervous about the whole thing having to be called off. I would watch as cities and states were shutting down and putting limits on how many people could gather at a time. Our cabin was non-refundable which added so much more pressure. People had bought plane tickets and asked for vacation time so I was crossing my fingers the entire time.
David enjoyed his hike.
Lilah loved being around her older cousins. She loves to grab people by the finger and drag them around. Ainsley was not too happy but was being a good sport.
The beautiful view from up top.
My cute little girl.

Then, we went and played in the lake. The water was so beautiful. It looked turquoise as we were driving there. And it was just shallow enough for the babies to be able to splash around in it.

My little Lilah enjoyed playing in all of the toys that we rented. Mike's cousin had a boat that he brought with him to give kids a ride. It was so fun and nice of him.

Hanging out with her boy cousins. She is surrounded by boys!

My little handsome had a great time too.
I loved being able to play with my babies and watch them have such a great time.

The kids enjoyed themselves at the cabin. It was very kid friendly.

The next day, Marcia and Doug rented a boat and jetskis for us.
The babies payed in the sand with their beach toys.
Lilah got to ride with her aunts. She loved being in the water and kept asking to go out for more.
Brother having fun being pushed around on the floatie.

This was not a fun memory to remember. I was worried about taking the babies out on the water but everyone said it was a really calm ride and that people don't even get their clothes wet. Welp, we ended up flipping. Somehow the floatie ended  up on top of David and I. I was so grateful we had life jackets on. I swallowed so much water and for 1 full minute it was so hard to breath. I was just holding David up as high as I could hoping that his face was not underwater since I couldn't see anything. It was definitely scary. And also made me trust my mom intuition better. Next time I think something might be unsafe for my babies, I'l just go with my gut. Poor David was screaming because the water was cold. Thankfully we were all safe and lived to tell the scary story.

The next day we went back to the lake for some more fun

The kids paying Bingo.
On the last day everyone was cranky and didn't want to do anything. One of my brother in laws found this cool cave to repel down but no one wanted to go because it was a 40 minute drive. It ended up being a super fun time and most everyone either climbed or repelled.

It was cold inside and even had some snow.

This is how high it was. pretty scary looking! I didn't think I would even get close to the edge, let alone drop down by a rope.

Here's Mike going down.

I decided to try it and ended up climbing this small rock. It kind of gave me the courage to repel down the big rock.

And I did it. I didn't think too much about it I just kind of went for it. I saw so many people be brave and I did it! I was so proud of myself.
For 4th of July we barbequed, had La Beau's shakes and watched fireworks.

Marcia made the most delicious breakfast.
My forehead vein pops out when I am happy.
Doing our at home church. It was so nice to gather with the family and feel the spirit.
Root Beer war. We found out Doug can chug a root beer pretty fast.
S'mores night.

On the way back, we stopped by my moms for my brother since he had driven up with us.
We stopped at a hotel in St. George for the night. Here is our COVID approved breakfast .

On our way home we stopped by a red lake in St. George and also stopped by to say hi to our Castillo cousin.
It was perfect for the kids.

The kids had a rough time on the way back but we made it home safely.
Here's to never planning a Stewart family trip ever again!
