Huntington Dog Beach

I have been wanting to take the dogs out on a hike so that they can roam free, I hate having to have them on a leash all the time. I thought maybe they would enjoy being outdoors. On Monday morning I actually woke up early. Seriously I've been sleeping like 12 hours each day now that summer's here (It feels sooo good) So I woke up early and started to get ready. Mike was out of bed already. He usually wakes up before me and starts doing things around the house or takes a trip to Lowe's or Home Depot. He knows to leave his sleepy wife alone, hehe. Since I didn't see him I started packing lunches for the day. When he came home I told him I wanted to take the dogs on a hike, he said he rather go to the beach. So, I started packing up beach stuff while he got the EZ up, chairs, and bikes loaded. It took us forever to get packed, packing for dogs is almost like packing for kids, "Did you get their food, did you get their towels, how much water did you get them, did you get their bowls, are their leashes in the car" hehe
As expected, there were SO many people at the beach. We had to park so far we ended up only taking down our food. It was good that we parked a little far away because the dogs were full of energy sitting In the car for an hour and a half. We took our bikes and the dogs ran all the way down to the dog beach.

The dog beach wasn't crowded at all, thank goodness because I was worried about Gus since he's not the best at coming when called.

It was Gus' first time at the beach. Mike was trying to get him comfortable in the water.

Gus wasn't too sure about the water. It must be scary when your short little legs don't touch the bottom.

The pups were having a great time.

This is Butter's second time on the beach and he sure loves it. He would run into the ocean and run back to beat the waves.

 Haha, scardy cat Gus.
Can you tell he's having a blast?
Goodness gracious I sure love this pup of mine!
Gus is too cool for pictures
Mike was trying to get Butter to go in deeper, what a brat!

Poor Butter ball

Trying to keep his head above water, and Mike laughing at him in the back

It was fun running into the ocean, and then trying to beat the waves back. Butter was having SO much fun!

I think Gus was only participating in our game because he would get a treat for being brave. Anything for a treat.

 Alright, he gets a treat!
My buddy and I, always by my side

Gus is Mr. Social Butterfly. Can you spot him running around the beach. It was SO exhausting having to see where he was and chase him down if he was getting freaky with another female dog. I loved that he was finally able to roam around free. But, it definitely back fired. When we got home that night, he thought he could still roam around free and walked over to the park down the street from our house, darn it! Thankfully he came back on his own. Because chasing him only makes it worse.
It sucked that we couldn't unload our EZ-up and chairs, but I sure didn't want to carry all that on a bike while holding a dog.

I accidentally lost Butter's leash in the ocean. I had it wrapped around my back pack and it must've fallen while we were playing. Mike and I were SOO proud of him because on our drive back to the car, he stayed by my side the ENTIRE time. Even with a bunch of people and dogs walking down the side walk. I was a proud dog mama for sure!!

Gosh I love this pup!

He's such a loyal dog, we sure love him!

When he was tired from playing he just came over and sat down next to Mike and I. He's so well behaved.
After some more playing with Mike he just came over and cuddled up right next to me. I love you too, Butter!

Mike and Butter trying to figure out where the heck Gus was at

Oh there he is!

Such a fun (exhausting) day. I love getting to spend all this time with Mike and the pups :)
