I started my Master's in Nursing Education and life has been crazy busy. It seems like I do not have time for anything these days. I miss going on adventure days with my little guys. My classes have been getting harder and longer. The other day I turned in my assignment and had nothing to do for the rest of the weekend. It was amazing. I would usually be annoyed that my mentor did not pull my class up for me, but this particular weekend, I decided to enjoy it.
I had always wanted to go to Sequoia National Park.
Mike and I decided to make a quick trip out of it.
Oh and Lilah has started not wanting to be in our family pictures anymore. I thought I still had a couple of years until we hit that phase.
She prefers to be the center of attention.
It was so awesome for the kids to explore and jump around. I love when they can just be wild.
Again, Lilah refused to be in the picture. Stinker! This is what the parameter of a Sequoia Tree looks like if we were to stand in the middle.
Oh, how I love my silly David!!
We felt like little people walking around these trees. They were amazing!
We felt like little ants walking around in a giant's forest.
Absolutely amazing!
Lilah didn't want to be in the picture with us but she was fine with me taking a picture of just her.
My cute little girl. Strong-willed too!
These pictures of Lilah posing are some of my favorite. Mind you she did not want to be in the pictures with Mike and David so she asked for pictures of her only.
And David picking up dirt and rocks as usual.
The roots of a fallen tree. Absolutely amazing!
Can you spot tiny little me?
We even got to drive our car through an old fallen tree. This tree fell and instead of chopping it down years ago, settlers decided just to make a hole big enough to drive through.
So cool that we could drive our car through the middle of the tree and there was still plenty of tree left.
Not sure what is going on in our hotel room but apparently Mike is helping David get dressed?
The next day we went back and did some more exploring. This was where natives used to cook. Doesn't look like a modern kitchen. But I believed they used those holes to make food.
Mike stepping on the kitchen. That is one kitchen with a view!
Pictographs on the rocks. The Native people were some of the most incredible people to ever live on this earth. We owe so much to them!
This was a place where the sick would come. It was called the healing rock. I can't imagine how smart they must've been to create their own medicine.
A quick selfie because it's too hard to get the kids in and out of the car.
David out in the wild.
This boy is happy with sticks, rocks, or dirt.
We even got to walk inside the tree. It was a tree tunnel.
And an old settler's home. I am amazed at how skilled people used to be back in the day. So much craft.
David with a blankie, a book, and his Mickey. What more could a boy want?
