6 months old

Holy moly we are at the half way mark with this little man. To say this year has gone a lot faster than Lilah's first year would be an under statement. What a joy it has been to have David in our family.
The first couple of months were pretty rough as we were all transitioning from a family of 3 to a family of 4. Lilah definitely had a hard time not having mom all to herself (She is such a mama's girl!)
Since Lilah had a rough time, mama had a rough time. She didn't like that I had to stop and feed the baby and that he got unlimited mommy time while I nursed him. If I took him into the room to nurse him, she would take that opportunity to be extra naughty so that mom would finally pay attention to her. Every nursing session usually ended up with a mess to clean up. Add the sassyness from the toddler and a sleep deprived momma, and you end up with really rough months. But, we made it. These two are now playing with each other. Lilah likes being silly so she can make her brother laugh. David lights up as soon as Lilah walks in the door. He loves his big sister. He has also learned to play. Well by play I mean take his sister's toys away. Lilah has gotten lots of practice in sharing lately.

I have fallen in so deeply in love with this little boy of mine. Lilah taught my hot to be a mommy and how to never take these little chubby hands for granted and I will forever be grateful to her for that. This time around, I knew how to love like a mother so early on that I didn't have to waste any time figuring it out. I wish I could stop time on moments like these. These little cuddles mean the world to me.

This little man has gotten so mobile this month. He has learned to sit up. He is still a little wiggly but he is getting better each day.

He loves playing with toys, specially if his sister in using them. If Lilah comes and takes his toy, he will grunt at her and cry. He knows what he wants and does not like when it's taken away from him.

His little arms are getting so strong. He is starting to pull himself up on things. Here he is watching his cousin's soccer game.

6 month pictures. It's hard to get him to sit back. He just want to go, go, go! It was hard to keep him from falling off the chair since he kept wanting to get off.

To my surprise, he does not like eating. He closes his mouth tight and swats my hand with food out of the way. He does like feeding himself though. As long as he can hold his own food, he is willing to eat it. He went to town the other day with an avocado. He was covered on avocado from head to toe. Good thing he loves baths.

Talking about baths, this kid is such a fan. He will splash all of the water out of his baby tub. It's so cute! Lilah usually goes into her room and comes back naked ready to jump into the bath with baby brother.

David is really good about his sister man handling him. She can sometimes be so rough with him and he just rolls with the punches, literally. Lilah loves to rub his belly and tickle him. David is so patient with his older sister. Specially when she's rolling all over him.

We have loved having David around for all our adventures. He is such a chill and content baby and is such a great little car snoozer. He loves seeing things and getting pushed around on the stroller. As long as he is fed, he is a happy baby. It makes us taking 2 babies around so much easier.

I think I am finally getting the hang of 2 littles running around. David has started having an opinion about wanting to be carried around. Some days he just wants snuggles from mama. He loves being in the carrier and exploring the world from my point of view. Lilah has finally relaxed and has started being less clingy. She is acting like such a little 3 year old lately. I love it.

Lilah fights with her baby because he takes her toys away, but then will go and wake him up from his nap because she misses him.

I love watching their sibling bond grow. Nothing makes me happier in the world then to see these two happy and healthy.

Lilah will take his toys away, David will cry, and then she goes and finds another toy to give him. She is getting really good at swapping.

Here she is taking his toy away. Atleast she decided to give him some cuddles.

After a couple of rough months of transitioning from 1 to 2 kids, I am finally in love with life with these two. I absolutely love every day that I get to spend with these two at home just the three of us. Lilah is going to be starting school soon and I will be so sad to not have her in the mornings, but I am also looking forwards to more one on one time with my little David. He is growing so fast. He is 6 months and barely fits into size 12 month clothes. He is a tall boy. He is 21 pounds, only 2 more pounds and he will be as heavy as his sister. He has so much chubs that he doesn't cry when he gets his shots. He gets compliments from everyone about what a happy baby he is. He has the world's greatest smile. And let's not even talk about that delicious belly laugh of his. He loves to nurse. It's hard to get up twice every night to feed him, but I love those bonding moments I have with him while nursing him. I am trying to soak up all of his babyness before he is running around this house causing mischief with his sister.
I love you so much my little David!
