This year we went up and spent Thanksgiving at my mom's house. I was so worried about taking the littles on such a long drive but they did so well. We decided to make the drive fun and stopped whenever the babies got tired. This made it way more enjoyable for all of us.
The drive was long but enjoyable. On our way up we stopped by my cousin Marsix's house and then stayed the night in Mesquite. When we finally got to Utah, the roads were clean and the snow storm was to start that night. We got so lucky to have nice weather. The year before we had gotten stuck at the canyon and wrecked our truck, so I was so thankful to have gotten there safe.
The night we got there, it snowed all night. We woke up to a winter wonderland. Lilah was not the biggest fan of snow apparently. Maybe it was too cold for her.
My mom's neighborhood.
This month was the last month of our Monthly Service Acts. We made our final act by donating to the Light the World giving machine.
I had such a warm feeling in my heart such being there. The church is amazing. They are always finding ways to give to the community
It was awesome to see all of the ways you could donate to someone in need.
Lilah chose an eye exam and pair of glasses. I chose polio vaccines. Mike chose mac & cheese dinners. It was such a neat experience to share with my little family.
Inside the Joseph Smith Memorial building.
Across from the Joseph Smith building was the mall. We had to walk in the snow for a minute to get inside the mall. It was fun but I was grateful that we only had to go across the street. Can't imagine having to be in the snow for longer than 15 minutes. Never the less it was beautiful and the temple square looked beautiful covered in snow.
We went to the mall to see if we could find Lilah a pair of jeans since she is hard to shop for and we thought we'd take advantage of the sales. She is tall but so skinny that everything slides down her butt. We ended up walking away empty handed but got some food and played at a little playground they had indoors.
My mom had to work the day before thanksgiving so we decided to keep playing and go to a children's museum.
I LOVED this museum. It was so dang fun. Lilah was in love with all of the activities. I love watching her play.
We played at the museum for over 2 hours and then Mike left to hang out with a family friend. It was a good day.
The day after was thanksgiving. Priscilla came over and we had ham and turkey. I decided that next year I would just skip thanksgiving. I had Lilah wanting to sit on my lap and eat my food and the baby wanting to be held. It was quite stressful. I think we will skip the Thanksgiving decorations next year and just soak up a little more of Christmas. Christmas is alot more kid friendly and there are just so many fun things to do.
Here's Mike and Lilah making a snowman.
We decided to head home early so that we could take it slow on the road. We stopped at a hotel in St. George and relaxed for the night.
Lilah loves hotels. There is so much to do, so many buttons to push, so many little shampoo bottles to play with. Here she is using towels to turn the lights on and off. It's so hard to have her fall asleep when we stay at a hotel. She is just so excited about everything.
On our way back, there was a lot of traffic. We stopped at another children's museum in Las Vegas. This one was definitely not as cute as the first but Lilah still enjoyed playing. We played for about 2 hours here before getting back on the road.
We were hoping Lilah would tire herself out since we would be sitting in traffic for so long and she did just that
This was her favorite. I think we must have stood her for a good 40 minutes while she lined up these colors in a line.
Here we are leaving Las Vegas. She put a blanket over herself and said good night, ha! Looks like she had a great time playing.
