This summer, Mike's family planned a family outing in Yellowstone. I was so excited that we were able to coordinate all of our schedules and go out and spend time together. I had always wanted to go to Yellowstone, so I was stoked to be able to go.
When we first got there we went and checked out some geysers. There are so many incredible places in this country that I have yet to discover.
The colors were so cool. I was so scared to fall off and have my leg disintegrate in that beautiful water, hehe!
So cool!
Mike stuck his butt out on command for this picture :)
The big finale, this geyser reminded me of the Bufadora from Rosarito.
The main log cabin was unreal. I couldn't believe the architecture inside and ALL of those logs.
I believe we visited the Yellowstone Grand canyon on the first day we were there (This is what I get for blogging 6 months late) When we climbed to the top, we had a great view of a beautiful waterfall.
Some of the youngens climbed all the way down to the water but It was so steep, I was scared I would slip.
There they are at the bottom enjoying the water.
After visiting, we went and saw more geysers. I wish I could remember the names of all of these places. I was having such a great time being a passenger I had no idea what all the places we visited were called.
It was quite the long day but on our way home, we saw bison walking on the side of the road as well as many other animals. It was quite the scenic route.
That night we came home and celebrated Mike's birthday/ had our baby's gender reveal. I thought it would be fun to surprise family and it would be a fun way to make this birthday memorable. I had packed extra party supplies in our rental and we had ourselves a little party. After some failed attempts at popping our poppers, the pink confetti finally came out and every one cheered for baby GIRL Stewart!
Another day we decided to do something close to home since we had been driving so far and for long periods of times with all of the little ones. We ended up river rafting.
Mike and I took our kayak. It was my first time getting in it.
We had quite the large group, it was funny to see us all attempt to go in our direction.
We couldn't stop laughing at one point because the little river was SO shallow, if you got in the water, the water barely covered your ankles. More times than not we had to get out and push our kayak by hand.
With all of that pushing, we stopped by on the side of the river and had lunch. We tied all of the rafts together and hoped for the best.
Here's Katie peeing on the side of the boat. She was supposed to be "helping" Ridgey. River rafting was too much fun!
It was very pretty too.
When we came home that night, we had dinner and roasted cookie s'mores by the fire.
On the third day, we went to see more geysers. These were the same geysers that were at the beginning of this blog post. These are my camera pictures.
Such a fun group!
On the last day we went on a little hike. We had a picnic by the water with the most amazing view. It was seriously such a beautiful place.
After our lunch we set out on our little hike.
The kids were having a grand time being with their cousin friends and singing "We're following the Isaac, the Isaac, the Isaac" over and over again.
Odin/stud muffin.
Group Selfie!
After our hike, Mike and I started our journey back home. We decided to drive on the side of the park that we hadn't been to before.
While Michael was sleeping, I woke him up to take picture by these waterfalls. I couldn't get enough of all of the beautiful waterfalls around Yellowstone.
The drive home was also so pretty. It's not very often that we get to see thick luscious trees.
We stopped at a pizza joint at a town close by.
Wyoming is so pretty!
As we were nearing Utah, Mike stopped for a famous black berry shake near Bear Lake. It was so yummy. He said they would stop here for a shake when they were younger. I love to be able to visit places were they used to go when they were younger.
We made it to grandma's house late last night. I LOVE this on her wall because it is SO true! Carol and Cy are always so welcoming and we absolutely love being at grandma's house.
The next day we went over and hung out with Alex and Marsix. We always try to squeeze in as much family time as we can while we are on trips.
We ended up going to Alex's brother's restaurant which just happens to be by the world's largest gentleman's club. Alex looked a little out of place pushing a stroller as we walked up.
Another great family trip in for the books!
