Halloween

For Halloween this year, we kept up with our tradition of having dinner at In-N-Out and going out to my friend Natalie's neighborhood. Her hubby had to work that night and we didn't mind going out and walking the neighborhoods with her.

I think she appreciated the extra hands with her kids and we didn't mind having an excuse to go out and look at kiddos in their costumes. I love how into Halloween people get and how intense some of the front yard decorations are. Halloween is not my favorite thing to decorate for but, it's nice to go out and see other people's great efforts :)
We stopped by one of Natalie's ward member's homes. She is widely known in her neighborhood for giving out home made doughnuts instead of candies. Last year we tried to score some but the line was way too long. This year we started trick or treating earlier and got there when there was no line. Man those doughnuts were yummy. They were nice and warm and melted right in your mouth. I thought it was clever that she had the missionaries pass them out too, genius!
Mike  got some stroller pushing practice with little miss Ellie.

When we came home Michael kept mentioning that one of these years he wants to pass out candy. He probably mentioned it like 20 until I took some chairs out and grabbed a bag of candy I had bought for my baby shower. I remember I had a little Halloween tub from the year and I told him to go sit outside, ha! He was a happy boy sitting outside passing out his candy. He kept saying he felt guilty because we never pass out candy since we always go out, well he couldn't wine about it any more. We ran out of candy in like 30 minutes but I think it was long enough for him to be satisfied.

Our ward also had a trunk or treat party. I totally spaced about decorating our trunk, it never even occurred to me (Pregnancy brain? Sure why not!) I was all about making our costumes and cooking Karin's famous mac n cheese. Michael likes to make chili for the chili cook off but with him working all day, there was no time.
For Halloween this year I wanted to include my bump. I remember seeing this on Pinterest and thought it was hilarious. It was a total hit!

After a fun night it was time to go home and chill on the couch. I swear I need to go walking more before my butt gets imprinted permanently on that couch!

That week was also the last week that I taught my sweet Sunday School class. I'm sure going to miss them. The bishop was going to release me and put me in nursery at first (Are you kidding me?!) but then decided to just let me be a mom for the next month of two (That was a close one!) I'm going to miss teaching this class so much. I love these teenagers and their amazing testimonies. Sometimes listening to the news can be so discouraging but every Sunday I was reminded that there are still valiant, strong, worthy, teens out there who are great examples to their friends. Seeing them reminded me that everything is going to be ok. I'll miss them!
