Can't believe my baby shower already came and went. There was so much anticipation leading up to it. To me it meant that the end was in sight. I was excited about being more prepared and also about celebrating our little girl.
35 Week belly!
After searching through Pinterest I decided I wanted a Fall themed shower. I showed my friend Natalie my ideas and she executed them to the t. I loved how everything turned out.
It was fresh, and fall-y, and girly. It was perfect.
Even the food was delicious. My mother in law made two delicious chilies and Natalie made a caramel apple bar, brought veggies, and the yummiest apple cider.
I was so busy I forgot to take pictures at the shower, note to self hire a photographer next time! Thankfully my sister took some pictures.
Natalie was in charge of games. I thought it would be a fun idea to buy gift cards to Sephora and different restaurants to make things more competitive. It turned out to be a great idea!
My relief society president, Rita, won almost all of the games. Oh and how cute is baby Ariel!
My sweet sister in laws who left their busy schedules and drove down all the way from N. Cal to be at my shower. It meant so much! Ann even came after working a night shift!
In this game Natalie had me guess what kind of baby food I was eating. Man that stuff is nasty. No wonder babies spit it out!
I couldn't tell the difference between carrots and peas, ha!
My sweet co-workers also came! I was so excited to see them. Jessica, the blonde, came over after working a night shift too. Oh man, I sure felt the love that day!
Another game was blindfolded diaper changing
Gracie won!
Vanellope wanted in on the action too. She could probably change a diaper with her eyes closed now that she has a baby sister.
Now it was my turn.
I won! Although i'm sure Katie let me win ;)
My aunt Mary. I was elated to see them walk in the door! Such an amazing surprise
I didn't even take a picture with Natalie! She did such an amazing job!
My friend Elise from singles ward.
Beautiful group of ladies!
I love them all for taking the time to come to my shower!
Present time!
I had to add most of these pictures because my mom's face in the background is priceless! She is going to be such a great abuelita!
Ha, see what I mean! I can't tell who is more happy, me or my mom
Ha, it makes me smile to see my mom so happy in all of these pictures.
This is my "You made this quilt all on your own?!" face. Not only did Ann make a sacrifice to come all the way down to my shower, but she made our little girl the most beautiful quilt too! Isn't it perfect!
And she also gave her a little elephant to snuggle up to. Loved it!
People kept laughing at me because of the way I would hold the clothes. I couldn't help myself it was just so Wittle!
I needed tweezers to hold the tiny clothes
I was SO excited about the Owlet monitor my sister in laws gave me! I had been drooling over one for such a long time! It was definitely on my top want list. I am so excited to use it. I am such a worrier so having my baby's sats and heart rate taken over night will definitely bring me some comfort. (I'm such a nerdy nurse :)
I wanted to scream with excitement, haha! I was able to contain myself to some extent.
I hope this gives me a wee bit more sleep at night knowing it'll alarm me if the baby stops breathing.
So much beautiful clothes
And then there was abuelita's never ending present
It kept going...
and going...
and going...
Abuelita bought the whole little girl section at the store!
It was like a Mary Poppins gift box!
It makes me so excited to see how excited my mom is.
See what did I tell you? Never ending present. This is going to be one loved grand baby.
I think we're almost done opening abuelita's present.
After a mountain of clothes, hehe!
My diaper bag from my sweet friend Schyler who wasn't able to come but gave me 3 trash bags of her little girl's clothes. Most of them still have tags on them. I seriously filled up an entire drawer with clothes she gave me. Now I have to go buy a dresser to put the rest of these clothes in!
Baby Ariel! I love that Marsix's and my girl will be close in age just like we were
My cute sisters and mother in law.
I found these pictures on my camera after the party, seems like a certain little somebody went around taking pictures
Party favors made from Katie, they were perfect!
After everyone had left, we decided we'd make carne asada tacos for dinner.
We rearranged the tables and got ready to eat again, because what else do you do when you get together?
The food was delicious!
Thanks Mike!
We had the best time gathering around the table laughing.
Vanellope cheesing it up for us
Delicious food and great company
The future parents!
I'm so anxious and nervous to meet this little girl. I hope I can rise to the challenge of being happy while sleep deprived and having a baby scream at me all night long. Seriously how do you have a baby when you already have other kids. Women, I tell you, they're super human!
