Christmas 2015

I can't believe I'm this behind on blogging. Woopsies! I loved printing out my blog though, since I don't journal any more, I try to be good at blogging so my kids know a little bit about what their parents did in the olden days. Hehe.
For Christmas this year we went to my mom's house to celebrate. She had just moved to Utah so we were excited to check out her new place, since she loves it over there now. It was nice hanging out with my family since we don't get to see them too often any more.
On our way to Utah we asked Gma and Gpa Nielson if we could stop and stay at their house. We took so many detours that Gma tried calling us to see where we were. We didn't have any reception on top of the mountain where we were and gave Gma a little scare. Thankfully Gpa assured her that we had probably stopped some where with no reception. He knows us too well

One of the days we were in Utah we went over to Park City to check it out. It was such a beautiful place, made me wish we had snow boarding gear.

It looked like a mini village with all the roof tops covered with snow and the chimneys on.
One day we'll come and ski or snow board.

We also went and looked at the Christmas lights at Temple Square.
It's already beautiful there. The lights are definitely a bonus.

We were trying to take silly pictures on the side so no one could see us. Of course there were tons of people there and they were all making faces along with us.

I love this blurry picture of them laughing. It really shows them in their true state.

The day of Christmas eve we have a tradition of making home made tamales. My mom usually cooks the meat and we put the tamales together.

Michael got to be part of the action too.

After we made the tamales, we headed over to the ice skating rink. I hadn't been ice skating in a while and held on to the side for a good while. Then after seeing all the little kids pass me, I decided to woman up and hold Mike's hand (super tight of course) Michael is a lot more physical than me and is able to do things right off the bat. I, on the other hand, take my sweet time getting adjusted. He was nice enough to hold my hand until I was able to get the hang of it.

Priscilla and I were trying to take a cute picture with our legs popping out without falling down.
She was trying to take me down, that little booger.
 We did it!

We also went tubing while we were there. On our way to Park City we had spotted this tubing place and decided to try it out. It was a blast!

On our way back from tubing, my mom wanted to show me some new houses they had built by the temple. She was trying hard to convince me to move there since we were still looking for a house at the time, tempting!

On Christmas Eve we played some games while the food was cooking.

My mom slaved all day in the kitchen making the most delicious meal for us. She had asked me a couple of weeks prior what I wanted to eat on Christmas day, I said posole not really thinking any thing of it. An lo and behold we had delicious posole for Christmas eve. My momma loves spoiling us with her delicious cooking skills. Oh and I got a tripod for Christmas, i love it! It sure comes in handy when we want to take a group picture without some one having to be out of the picture.
On Christmas Eve morning we did our tradition of cooking tamales. We have been doing this as far as I can remember. Each person has a role. Some one will put meat in them, another person does the potatoes and the carrots, and another person folds them. I love this tradition. I need to learn how to make tamales so I can do this with my little family one day.
I love these two. Whenever we're together we will laugh until one of us pees their pants.

It's so crazy to see how much we have changed and grown up. I'm glad I had another year to enjoy these two. I really need to better about being a better big sis.

It's been fun having Armando be part of our family. He is a great guy. He loves my mom so much and it's nice to see her get all dressed up now and be excited about going out on dates. He gets along so well with her family too. He is the life of the party when they go visit and they always know it's gonna be a good time when Armando comes. He really loves my grandma too, his 'mother in law' When he goes to work, he calls her in the morning to say good morning (without my mom even being around) how cool is that. He really spoils my mom and my grandma. So great to see my mom happy, she deserves it.

  Opening presents

Woohoo Santa, got me a new pair of earrings for Christmas, i must've been a good girl!
We did a Secret Santa with my family in Mexicali and they sent their presents up to us. My mom thought it was so funny that some one wrapped her See's Candy lolli up.

Hmmm.. I wonder what's in here...

Joel brought us Mexican candy from his Mexicali visit, definitely stole the show with his presents.

Merry Christmas 2015!
