Lilah being loving and walking David to school. Once in a while she can be a sweet big sister.
Lilah is still little enough that I can hold her on my hip.
David is barely small enough to be held on my hip. This kid is growing like a weed.
There's always like 200 selfies of Lilah on my phone.
I love having a 6 burner stove. It's so handy!
And I love my pot filler. I always wanted one. I love that everything I've ever wanted in life I've worked towards and achieved. I remember when I was in Highschool, I always wanted an Altima and a Golden retriever and to get into nursing school. I accomplish all of that by the age of 21. accomplished
On a breakfast date with David before school.
Lilah does great in the kitchen. Sometimes I wake up and she's already made everyone pancakes.
These pictures are backwards but back in February we got to go with Marsix to Mexico for the first time. We went to Mexicali and then I showed the kids my old town of Holtville and then we drove by Salvation Mountain.
It was a total dump except for these painted rocks, haha!
But I'm glad I crossed it off my list.
This was the house I grew up in when my dad worked at UCLA. This was were my parents got divorced back in 3rd grade? I remember there were so many trees to climb. I was so sad to see they had cut them all down. That far window on the left was my room.
These were the apartments where I grew up after that. I think we lived here from when I was middle school all the way to me graduating High School.
When my mom left my dad, we moved into these little apartments. We were the last ones on the right. The only thing we had were the furnishings in here. I remember living here and thinking the world would end in the year 2000. We loved going to get hamburgers right next door at the AmPm. My grandma lived in the apartments across the street.
When I moved out to college, Priscilla and my mom lived in this apartment. This is where Priscilla got Gus. This is also where my mom started dating Armando. I don't remember coming here more than once. I believe I was in the thick of nursing school.
I also took my kids to my old Holtville High School. I loved high school so much. Band was definitely my favorite and most memorable time in school. I spent so much time in this room.
They have dedicated this building to our band teacher Lendal Macon. I still remember his little belly bouncing around while conducting music. He was a great teacher. We played such beautiful music there together. I loved playing my flute with my band so much. There are still songs that I remember and kept from when we used to play together.
Thinking of high school just makes me so happy. I had the best of friends. Yadira, Griselda and Christina. We were together through it all. We were even together after school at our band practices and football games. Football games in the band were so much fun. We won a lot of contests. Although we were a small band, we were mighty for sure.
I also remember my chemistry teacher. I can't quite remember her name right now but she was the cutest little thing and had the perfect bob. She loved teaching science and was so much fun.
We also had Mr. Rogers who has the best Math teacher.
I took mostly all Advanced and Honors classes in school so the kids were always well behaved.
The school was about 50% Hispanic and 50% white. So Spanglish was the main language we all spoke.
Man, so many great memories here. It's weird to see how much it's changed. I used to just be able to walk off school, get in my car and drive to the 7/11 but now it's a closed campus. I wish my kids could grow up in a world where I grew up. We weren't stuck to our phones. We had such a beautiful childhood.
I loved this little town so much. It was small. Now that I think of it I don't even know what there was to do for entertainment. I know I spent alot of time at my friend's houses. I loved going to the Spanish trailers. That's where you'd go and buy treats.
It was fun to take my kids there. It feels like another life time ago.
Marsix got her greencard and for her first outing to Mexico we went to Mexicali. We happened to be going for my grandma's birthday so i'm so happy it all worked out.
I was so excited to go and have Tacos de Borrego. I loved eating these tacos for breakfast. Usually I go to Mexicali without my car and cross over walking in he evenings so It's been a long time since I've eaten these tacos.
My Lilah girl is the one that loves Mexican food most out of all of my kids.
I was so happy, hehe.
So crazy to have all of our kids here in Mexicali together. Last time Marsix and I were in Mexicali together was when we were like 4 years old.
Marsix and I took a picture before we crossed over. We had to turn our dollars to pesos, hehe.
Lilah always taking selfies on my phone.
Annie is the dress up QUEEN. She loves playing princess dress up more than anything. She goes through so much clothes and shoes a day.
David lost his first TOOF! The tooth fairy brought him a glittered $5.
Princess Annie on the way to pick up David from school.
My kitchen remodel is complete! I love my kitchen so much. I spend so much time in this room so it's so fun to see it all come to life. Our contractor Jason did such a wonderful job putting all of the details together.
Love it!
