Spooky October

Well, groundhog day keeps on keeping on around here. We are still quarantining, mask wearing, social distancing, and online schooling. This somehow feels like the new norm but also I refuse to believe this is our new life. We strive to make the best of it. Lilah has been doing so well following her teacher along on the screen. Even though she's never seen her teacher before (Except for when we pick up school supplies and we saw her once at the grocery store) She still loves to see her every morning. She tries to make the best of seeing her little friends on a screen but I wished she could be playing with them in a school play ground instead.

Some days I truly try to cherish all of this extra time with my little ones. Other days it feels like I am drowning and I can never catch a break. They're always there asking for things, crying, fighting with each other, making messes. It's like i'm always behind no matter what. I know I will look back and appreciate these days. It's just hard when I am still in the thick of it.

I'm so grateful that little brother is here to play with Lilah. I love watching them play together. Sometimes David likes to pester his sister though. He can be a little butt like that. But, I guess that's what siblings are for.

I can't get enough of these two but also for the love of all things stay away from me for 30 minutes, haha!

It's almost impossible to take a good pictures of these two together. Someone is always wiggling or trying to run away.

Or being silly.

The biggest perk of online school is that little David gets to join in on the fun. Sometimes he is the biggest distraction and he gets Lilah mad so then the are both putting on a fight and show for the teacher online. But, some days he and Lilah work and do their little activities and have the best time learning.

I've loved watching David learn so much alongside of Lilah.

Lilah loves doing little crafts. I am so grateful to her teacher for sending everything home ready to go. She has made this as least painful as possible. Before Lilah was in preschool, I would have to come up with my own activities. Now her teacher sends home the cutest crafts and activities.

Lilah has done great even though we have had the challenge of doing online school.

Lilah took these pictures of David on my phone. I thought they were cute so I wanted to post them.

Lilah's favorite school activity is to cut. She loves cutting everything right now.

David has really started to enjoy coloring. He is still learning that we only color on paper though.

For Halloween, our family dressed up as the crew from Toy Story. Lilah looked so beautiful in her Little Bo-Beep costume.

Lilah has gotten more and more beautiful with every year. She is constantly getting compliments about how pretty she is.

Her cute little glasses add to the cuteness factor.

Lilah working in speech therapy. She has started to let me put her hearing aids during speech. We are slowly trying to get her to wear them more often.

My church calling this year is primary secretary. Since we have not seen the primary kids in almost a year now, we decided to put together a Halloween Festival. It was a total success!

We had games, hay rides, movie playing, costume contest, cookie decorating, food, hay ride, zip line, and tons of other activities for the kids to do.

The kids and I on the hay ride.

We did it in the first counselors ginormous back yard. We even had a trunk or treat. We had a great turnout.

Lilah was so happy to finally hang out with her little friends. Specially her bestie Ethan.

David was Woody, Lilah Bo Beep, and Mike and I were Mr and Mrs Potato heads.

We weren't sure if the kids were going to be able to do trick or treating this year, but our neighborhood decided to still celebrate Halloween.

We only did about 2 blocks because there were so many houses. It was perfect for the kids.

Some houses went all out.

The kids loved knocking on the doors and saying Trick or Treat!

It turned out to be a great COVID Halloween after all!
