For Easter this year Lilah and I went to our community's local Easter egg hunt. I had seen signs for it the week prior and decided we'd go check it out since we've never been. When we got there, there were a bunch of little shops and people selling things. There was a group of teens playing music which Lilah enjoyed watching. The Easter egg was about to start in about 15 minutes but it was for the older kids so we skipped that. Lilah and I walked around and I enjoyed holding her little hand as she looked around at all the people. It was a great one on one time with Lilah. There were some vendors selling food but the lines were so long I decided it was time for us to go, specially because I still had to make a side for our ward's Easter party.
We went home, I made cheesecake strawberries, and we headed over to the Perry's house. They were so sweet to invite us. Sister Perry goes ALL OUT for parties. There is seriously SO much food and her house is always decorated so cute! Lilah and I got there (daddy was at work) and we ate yummy food and talked to friends. Lilah loved being around all the kids.
Once everyone had eaten, they started on the Easter egg hunt. They lined up the little ones in order from smallest to biggest and I think Lilah was second in line.
Standing in line waiting to look for Easter eggs.
Lilah wasn't too sure about the whole egg thing. After a while she found out that there were treats inside.
Every kid was to find 22 eggs.
Here she is sharing her eggs with this little boy. She loves sharing.
A friend suggested someone help her find more eggs. Apparently every kid HAD to find 22 eggs so that it was fair for all. I was fine with her only picking up 5, hehe!
Here is one of the Sattley girls helping her find more eggs. Lilah loved the help from her new friend.
After the kids picked up all of their eggs they got TONS of more treats.
The treats kept coming and coming and coming!
I was surprised and thankful that Lilah was a happy girl because this was all during her nap. After picking up all those candies though, she decided to lay down on the couch and make herself comfortable.
These are our Easter Sunday pictures. My mom bought her this dress for Christmas and it finally fits her. It was the perfect girly, cute dress for Easter Sunday.
Holding on to my only baby for just a little longer.
We got home from church and found someone had left some chalk for Lilah on the front door. Thank you to whomever that was!
For Easter dinner we made ham, salad, and yummy potatoes.
I love my little family so much! This Easter I tried to really think about the meaning of the Holiday and tried to make it as Christ centered as possible. I have some new traditions that I'd love to implement for next year and I'm excited.
In the afternoon we went to the park and saw people flying kites. We ran back home and got a kite I had bought for Lilah and decided it would be the perfect day to fly it. As you can see from her face, Lilah was excited.
She got the hang of it pretty quickly.
Here she is doing it all on her own.
Getting it high in the air with daddy's help.
We had a great time at the park. We couldn't get Lilah away from the kite, she loved it so much!
When we got home, I was supposed to make some ressurection treats but we had eaten SO much all day and had so many treats that we left it for the next day. That will be another tradition to add to next year.
Happy Easter!
