The Brown Family has added a little girl into their family and Mike and I couldn't be more happy for them! They already have 5 amazing, sweet boys baby Julia is just the cherry on top of the cherry. I was so glad that everything worked out so that Mike and I were both able to go to baby Julia Ruth Brown's baby blessing.
There is no doubt that Texas has delicious food, even their snow cones are delicious! Karin and Bryan love this snow cone place and we quickly discovered why. They had, what seemed to be, hundreds of flavors to choose from and all were so yummy like, Tiger blood (my fave), peach cobbler, Strawberry jubilee (another favorite), pina coalda, and on and on and on. So delicious.
After getting some snow cones we drove out to see some fire works. The streets were full of people ready to see the show and thankfully we were able to find some parking down the street so the kids could watch the fire works.
It was fun to celebrate Fourth of July surrounded by family.
The next day we woke up to the delicious smells of crapes. Bryan had woken up early and made crapes for every one. I'm telling you, the Browns sure know how to spoil their guests!
After crapes there was a lot of baby holding going on of course and then some swimming.
These boys are fearless when it comes to swimming! I couldn't believe it. Even Luke (2 years old) would jump right in and swim to the side and he would love to get thrown in by Mike.
Nichole and her kids also came to visit. I think Logan had only been in the swimming pool once or twice before, but he was loving it!
My lovely sister in law Jill!
That afternoon we went to have dinner at Babe's Chicken (starting to see a trend here?) And once again, we were all licking our fingers clean.
After Babe's we went and had some more snow cones. We were missing 3 sisters and 1 brother, I wish they could've been here for the fun weekend
After all that food we went and worked out some calories at the local park. I love the neighborhood Karin lives in. The park was clean and everyone was really nice. The kids had a great time.
All the kids love Mike. He would make them go through an "obstacle course" and would time them to see who did it the fastest. They were loving it. That Mike can't wait to be a dad.
The big boys went out to the field and played some soccer.
This Lukey Luke is the happiest 2 year old I know. I've never seen him not smiling.
That night we watched Pitched Perfect, we sure love that Fat Amy.
The next day was finally the day to bless baby Julia. She wore her mom's baby blessing and looked absolutely adorable!
Here's daddy and Julia in her FIRST white dress
That baby Julia is a cutie, I couldn't help but snap a 'couple' of pictures of her
For Sunday's dinner Bryan smoked some chickens, and once again we were licking our fingers clean, yum!
Go Bryan!
Probably my favorite thing to eat, meat, pasta salad and fruit. Oh and the smoked sausages weren't too bad either.
Lots of baby holding this weekend.
Monday morning we had a couple of hours before we had to be at the airport. We decided to go to the Perot Museum of Nature and Science so the kids could look around and have a good time.
I found these two by themselves and I had to snap a picture. I love how they are best friends!
Uncle Mike sure knows how to get a smile out of that Benny Boo.
Little Luke, as usual, so pleasant and happy.
The boys loved doing this! whatever way they moved is the way the eagle on the screen would go
I never knew how silly Isaac was. Doesn't mind owning the spot light, AT ALL
The boys had a great time, and so did the grown ups. There was a ton of stuff to see we definitely couldn't get to all of it in one day.
Since we had to be at the airport by 6, every one was nice enough to have an early dinner so that we could eat with them. Thanks guys!
We went to my favorite place to eat in Texas, Rudy's. That meat is so delicious that it melts right in your mouth. Seriously, no teeth, no problem. They smoke all the meats in the back and you order by the pound. They also have sides to pick from and you get free loaf of bread to go with is. SO good. My mouth is watering just typing this up!
Oh man I sure have a great family! So glad we were able to go and hang out with them for a couple days!
What a fun trip to Texas. I love how the baby girl finally came at the end of all those boys, she is the little princess for sure. That museum looks way fun! Lots of fun stuff. Oh and yes I hear the food is better in Texas now I believe it, it all looks so yummy!
