Medieval Times

One of our favorite things about So Cal living, are the endless amounts of things to do. There's always a show we haven't seen or a beach we haven't visited, or a trail we haven't hiked, we love it! I had heard something about the Medieval Times Tournament and wanted to check it out. We heard they even served you delicious dinner so we were intrigued to see what it was all about. They asked us to get there about an hour early, not sure why. There was some stuff to look at like the tournament horses and some stores to shop in. The horses looked so depressed though, yikes maybe I shouldn't support places that use animals. But anyways...
Here's the blue eyed King and Queen Shorty Legs
When we got there, everyone was given a crown. Depending on what color crown you got, was the team you belonged to. We were team blue.
The place Inside was pretty big and it definitely made you feel like you were in a tournament. Since we got there early we had almost front row seats
Go team Blue!

At the beginning, a girl came out with a falcon. He was supposed to fly around the room but the falcon was being a little stubborn and didn't want to leave her arm. She almost had to shake him off, a little awkward. Then she rode her silver horse, those horses were amazing, I've never seen horses walk around and skip with their back legs!

Then It was dinner time. First was some tomato soup and garlic bread. A was a little hesitant to drink it because I am not a big tomato soup fan, but as soon as I tasted it, it was hard not to chug it down. It was so delicious!
Next came the chicken. Mine was so tender, it would just fall off the bone. And of course, there was no utensils, just hands for the added affect.
Then the tournament started. It was a great opening ceremony.
Here is the blue knight we were cheering for. It was to be surrounded by all the team blue supporters. When our Knight would go up we would cheer and when someone would hit him we all made sure to boo, ha!
Then, while the games were going, they brought this delicious, warm pastry

The knight played games to show who was the most skilled. If they won, the princess woul award them a white rose and they could give It to anyone in their team.
The games they played were pretty hard and definitely required a lot of skill.
If two people won, sometimes they would fight against each other. My Nephews would've really enjoyed this part because there were sparks, and sometimes their swords would break and go flying
Our knight won all around and therefore got the last rose. It was definitely fun to be on the winning team.
Here he is giving his final rose to a little girl.
Afterwards we got to take pictures with the characters
Here's Mike with the King and Princess and a not so photogenic Knight
Team Blue Knight!

It was a fun date night, hopefully next time we'll get to bring some nephews, they'll love all the action
