For Christmas this year Mike and I decided to stay home instead of going over to Mexico with my mom's side of the family. I accidentally scheduled myself for New Year's Eve 'day' so It would've been a lot of running around if we decided to go out.
For New Year's Eve we had our traditional Mexican fiesta for dinner, as usual it was delish. Also as part of the Stewart tradition, we acted out the Nativity while Papa read from Luke.
Here are the shephards
Baby Jesus was sure pleasant that night!
Ridge loving his uncle Matt
I sure miss Marcia having a piano. Even though I don't play much, It was fun to have a piano at home to play with. We all miss it. Mike brought our key board over so we could sing Christmas songs
What a cutie :)
Odin wanted his turn playing music songs and was sad when we had to put the keyboard away
After songs we started on the Nativity. Matt should reconsider his career, he's such a good actor!
Mary and Joseph
The angel
Such a giggly baby Jesus
He was loving all of his presents, specially because he could chew on them with his growing teeth
Great job everybody!
In the morning Santa Claus came! As far as I can remember I never remember catching Santa Claus in the act, he was so sneaky! Odin waited enough to take 1 family picture and then ran to see what Santa had brought
Ridge was in LOVE with his new toy, he was smiling so big and proud of himself for walking around the living room, super cute!
Odin loved it too!
In the Stewart home they open up all of the presents on Christmas day, so that was next on the agenda.
Odin is all about trains so he was sure excited to open his new train track toy
Since there are 8 siblings, we each rotate every year and get one family presents. This year Emily gave to us. We gave to the Monsons. Matt received from Jill and Jill scored big with his presents. I think he got the 4th Season of friends. Whatever it was, he loved it!
Mike asked Santa for a receiver. I guess Santa decided Mike had been a good husband this year because he got him his receiver plus the blue tooth head phone he wanted. Merry Christmas, Mike!
Every one went around opening their presents
Even Butter and Gus got spoiled. Thank you Stouvenels and Righters for all of the yummy dog treats!
The Hobbit on blue ray!!
Katie got a lap top for school
I remember having these when I was a kid! I remember you would slip them in with shoes on and you could adjust them smaller or bigger. Odin was excited for his very first skates. His father not so much. But look at how proud he looks!
I had to go out and give the pups some of their yummy treats they got for Christmas
This picture makes me giggle because it looks like Butter is eating poop (It's really a cookie) and Gus has his cookie on his back..hehe, weirdos :D
Butter was on a sugar high and could barely sit still. Merry Christmas to my bubba!
After breakfast Marcia prepared a delicious breakfast for us. We had the traditional egg casserole and sausages and home made cinnamon rolls, yum! We also added on some fancy shmancy hot chocolate with home made marshmallow's Marcia's friend gave her. Every thing was finger licking good!
Our traditional Christmas picture in front of the Christmas tree :)
While the turkey was in the oven we went to the park and played and watched the Hobbit
Marcia made THE most delicious, juiciest turkey I have ever eaten. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it. AND it was covered in BACON, what more could you ask for. Hats off to Marcia!
Ahh, I want to have Christmas again!
