Sister's Weekend 2015

This weekend was the annual sisters weekend. This year we everyone came over to Marcia's house and we had a girls weekend. When every one arrived Friday night we went over to Domenico's Italian Food Restaurant and had dinner.
The following day we drove out to San Diego. We started the day off with lunch at Old Town San Diego. My sister in law Emily and I shared a meal and I was very surprised in her Mexican Food choices. We had green mole chicken and flan for dessert. From now on I will always trust her meal choices. The restaurant had home made tortillas just like the ones in Mexicali. I was in heaven.

While we had been waiting for our seats at the restaurant we walked around since they were having a Twain Fest. Every one was dressed up in their pilgrim attire. I'm not sure what these tall things were.

After lunch we went over to Balboa Park

We walked around their beautiful gardens and went in to see some art exhibits at the museum.

This was one of my favorites. A photographer capturing people at the beach in Coney Island 'Visions of the American Dreamland'. I loved his candid shots of couple at the beach. The top one was supposed to be a young man and his girl enjoying the beach the day before he was deployed to war.

This was another one of my favorites. It was a photographer, Gregory Crewdson who paid special attention to the lighting in his pictures. It was amazing. I can't wait to learn how to take pictures some day.

After the museum we went out and walked some more around the park

Balboa gave me flash backs of our wedding, since this is where we took our wedding pictures.

Such beautiful gardens.

I'm such a midget :)

And of course I made the girls take a bunch of pictures just before leaving

The Browns visit

After visiting North Cal for Evan's baptism my sister in law Karin drove down to spend a couple of days at Marcia's house before heading back to Texas. I loved that she was able to come visit, we sure love her kids, oh and her too ;) We invited them over to our house one night before they went to the movie at the park event.
Loved having them over. Mike grilled hamburgers and hot dogs.

Her youngest, Julia just walking around like a happy girl

After dinner, we went to the park to watch a movie. Karin's kids are so well behaved it's easier to take her 5 boys out then it is to take 2 of some one else's kids. I wished they lived closer, I sure love those boys!

Ga gave the boys some money so they could walk around the stands and get some treats. Austin was in charge of the money and he sent his brother Adam back to see if Grandma wanted a treat, how thoughtful is that! Her kids are so obedient and thoughtful, such a delight to be around!

Once every one was loaded with a ton of candy and treats, it started getting so chilly. I didn't even think to bring a sweater with me on a summer night. It was SO funny because all of us were trying to cover ourselves up with this little blanket because it was so cold. That blanket would go back and forth with little bodies moving around under it, it was funny :) I'm glad we were able to spend time with them before they drove back to Texas. Now time to get to real life and study for that darn NCLEX, womp, womp.

Evan's Baptism

On August 25 another one of my nephews got baptized. I was so sad that Mike was not able to go, but he had just asked for vacations for our Cancun trip that he couldn't ask for vacations again. I really hate traveling without him, but I sucked it up because I knew I would really regret not being there on Evan's special day.
This handsome fellow was so excited on his baptism day. Evan is such a cutie. I snapped this pic as he was fresh out of the water and it really captures his personality!

His big bro Drew baptized him. Let me tell ya, it was such a neat experience to watch. It was definitely hard to hold back the tears. Specially with Karin and Jill getting all teary eyed around me:P

This is Evan's normal face. I've seriously never seen him not smiling.
Millie, Jill, and Grace looking beautiful

Family group picture. Getting a picture of a family this big is quite the challenge!

Love them!

After the baptism we went to Ann's house and had nachos.

In the afternoon we headed over to Beeb's fun house to watch Hero 6 in her back yard.

I have very friendly, loving envy for her beautiful back yard and garden :)

At the end of the night we wrapped things up with delicious s'mores

Roasted strawberry s'mores, my new fave! It was so fun to have all of our family gathered around for such a special event. I love that I married into a family that makes Family a priority and we always strive to be there for each other on important events.
