Preschool

Lilah started preschool. I was so excited for her but also a little bit sad. We had been doing a joy school between a couple of families in the ward and I loved it but Lilah needed special help with her speech.

It was an exciting day. We woke up early to have a slow day and for Lilah to have a good morning. It was sad that I had a little bit of anxiety due to all of the school shootings in the past year. She is still so little and doesn't talk which would make it easy for someone to take advantage of her without her being able to tell me.
Thankfully we had gone to school the day before to meet the teacher and see the classroom and it made me feel good to see Lilah wanting to stay and play.

Dropping of our little girl to her first day of school. Lilah goes to school Monday through Friday 8-11. She qualified for the 8-2:30 program but that would be too much time away from my little girl. The 3 hour school was perfect. Lilah would get to do school and see the school speech therapist but she would still be at home with us.

Lilah didn't want to stay, so I walked her into the classroom. Once she saw the play kithen, she said "See ya later mom!" Definitely made me feel good leaving her.

Lilah has really grown to love school. Some days she has trouble staying and wants me to walk her in, but as soon as she's in the classroom she is good to go. She loves her little friends and high fives her friends before she leaves. I love that she comes home with so many art projects. I'm excited for this school year and look forward to see everything she will learn.
