Our first little getaway for this year was a small weekend camping trip. We didn't want to go too far and spend the whole time driving so we decided to go to Julian, a small little town famously known for it's delicious apple pies. I miss taking Butter out on trips, it's a lot harder with two dogs now and specially when the little dog runs away and Butter thinks he needs to chase after him. Thankfully it was a great trip, no one got lost and we had a great relaxing time out.
The first night we went out on a little hike with the dogs. I am very, very sad to say that I thought this had been blogged our little trip so I deleted all the pictures from my camera but it was beautiful and the sunset was amazing on top of the mountain. (Thank goodness for this little Instagram photo) For dinner we had delicious stew made by the fire and pudding filled croissants, it was such a delicious dinner all made with a knife because of course we forgot utensils.
That night we opened the top of the tent and cuddled in under the stars. Mike and I really love the outdoors. There's something about the mountains that is so refreshing and peaceful.
The next morning Mike made breakfast burritos and hot chocolate. For some reason food always tastes so much better when your clothes smell like campfire and there's dirt under your fingernails. Once we put up our tent and picked up all of our camping gear, we went in to the little town of Julian. I remember going when I was younger. We would go and play in the snow since it was the closest we could get to it living in the valley. There, we checked out the shops, took pictures with llamas, and stood in line for one of the most delicious apple pies and home made ice cream I've ever had. I'm so glad we were able to get away because once school started I barely had any time for even laundry. I miss date nights and getaways. I'm looking forward to summer break so I can have more time with my main squeeze and lil pups.
What a fun getaway! Love the pictures specially the one with you and your baby doggies, gorgeous background!!
