Our family vacation this year was to go to Cancun. The kids LOVE going on an airplane.
The kids ready for take off and Lilah reading the Emergency pamphlet, just in case.
We brought my sister along with us to help with the kids.
Riding with a toddler is always alot of work but Annie stayed entertained most of the time and did great!
Naps on an airplane are always the best!
I always buy new activities for the kids to have new things to play with on the plane. They have to do 2 hours of activities before they get to watch a movie.
A little turbulence but nothing a hand from Tia can't fix!
It's always a little rough getting off the plane and into the rental car. There's lots of waiting and paperwork so it always feels magical to finally make it to our destination.
We rented an apartment for one night before going to our resort. The kids were loving this little bay.
It was perfect for all of them.
They all had a great time and we swam until the sun went down before finally getting out and having dinner.
It was so fun having Priscilla with us.
Vacationing with my kids is so hard and so much work but I love it!
The next day we rode out to Tulum to see the Mayan Ruins.
There were huge lizards everywhere.
We left our house a little late so it was hot and muggy and everyone had rosie cheeks.
Mike and I visited this place before we had kids and it's just as beautiful as I remembered it.
Sharing some shade.
Lilhah was dying because that girl does not like to be hot. So, we had to cut our trip short because I didn't want to deal with cranky kids.
David was not happy about how hot it was but he was enjoying the little breeze that we had. It was strong enough to hold his hat in place without him touching it.
After that, we stopped at Playa Conzumel to cool off.
The kids love the ocean and had the best time splashing around.
I love this picture, haha! Pure joy!
Annie was having a great time playing on the sand.
After playing at the beach, we had some street tacos for dinner.
And then headed back to our apartment and called it a night.
Vacation Annie is my favorite.
We had gotten in late to our resort so when we woke up, we woke up to this beautiful view.
The next day we ventured off to Chichen Itza.
I loved being able to take my kids to see their first Wonder of the World.
It was hot and muggy again so Lilah wasn't having it, but she waited for us under the shade.
My kids take great pictures!
Learning about the Mayan Ruins. We didn't get a tour guide because we didn't know how long the kids would last but I am always amazed at how smart these people were.
Lilah was hot and annoyed but that didn't stop her from posing for pictures!
After the Mayan Ruins, we went to a Cenote to cool off.
It was SO cool!
We swam around for a couple of hours and got to jump in from the side. Annie kept asking to jump in over and over again. That girl is a thrill seeker!
It was so beautiful!
On our way home, we stopped for dinner at a McDonalds. Annie loves yogurt and was excited about the yogurt that was included in her happy meal.
Annie is the best sleeper. It's so easy to take her places. Best 2 year old!
Lilah enjoying her breakfast outside with a view. That girl loves going on vacation.
Annie kept spiking her piggy tails up like this. She was cracking me up. I helped her out a little and it reminded me of a picture of when my little sister was young and we spiked her hair up like this.
The following day, we ventured out to Isla Mujeres. I remember this pirate boat from 11 years ago when we were here.
Riding up to get a good view of Cancun.
We road the ferry and landed in Isla Mujeres. I as so excited for this stop.
We had a little bit of a walk so we decided to get some raspados to enjoy along the way.
The water was incredible. It was so perfect for the kids.
Can you tell they're having a good time?
The water was so shallow so the kids could play on their own and it was clear and clean.
We spent hours there before calling it a day and heading home to explore our resort because we had yet to check it out.
First we got dinner though.
Quick photo op before hopping back on the ferry.
We sat outside the ferry and enjoyed the views.
And then we finally explored the resort.
It was so cute! They had these little swings and we took some pictures there. They had games and a little house for the kids to play in.
Later, Priscilla and I went downstairs to grab dinner.
It was a fun fast but very fun adventure and I am glad that we went. Everyone was safe, we had a great time, and we were all healthy.
And the kids did great on the flight back home.
Another vacation with my family in the books!
