After her IEP meeting, it was determined that Lilah should go to an even more specialized school. She had been attending (Online) Palm Innovation Academy. She was in a Special Education Speech Class with Miss Sarah. We loved it so much. Miss Sarah truly saved me through this whole online school thing. She sent home the cutest crafts and made class fun and even made it fun for David. David got to sit in class with Lilah and learned how to count, learned the songs, and starting learning his letters. He is only one!
We had to take a picture on Lilah's very last day of school even though she never actually got to attend in person. The week after she started her new school, the kids at Palm Innovation got to attend in person. It wouldn't be another 3 more weeks before it was her turn to attend an actual school.
After taking pictures in front of her school, we went on a walk and stopped by for some ice cream to make our walk more enjoyable.
Lilah has really stepped up being a big sister and watches out for David and shows his how to do things around the house. Here she was doing some cleaning. I love when she helps me clean! It's so hard to be the only one cleaning up all of the messes all of the time. When she helps me clean, it's like I have more time to play.
Here's Lilah sitting in her new class and David following along. There is alot more talking in this new class. The expectations are higher. It's alot less of a preschool 'old mac donald had a farm' type of lessons and it's more of learning how to speak properly in complete sentences while incorporating adjectives. I'm excited for how much her speech will improve.
Something I love so much about life is getting to watch my little David play with his cars. I wish I could engrave these videos into my brain and never forget them. He will line them up and then start lining them up again and again. I absolutely love it.
I caught Lilah taking a "selfie" of her and David. Too cute!
Lilah working on school work. They usually have one writing workshop where they learn to write their name and work on the letter of the week.
I love that Lilah makes David take pictures.
My cutie girl.
The other day, Lilah and I went on a mommy daughter date after speech. I have been so proud of all of her work and how far she has come with her speech. It was definitely a day to celebrate her successes.
First we went out for some lunch and the next stop was some treats. She opted for this marshmallow bunny.
My beautiful girl
Mommy was excited about her burrito
Then, we stopped by downtown Redlands and found the cutest toy shop.
Lilah loved seeing all of the toys. I don't mind taking her to see toys. She never throws a fit about wanting to take all of them home. She will play with them nicely and then put them back. It definitely makes me want to buy her everything she wants.
She ended up choosing a little blender to bring home. We also stopped by and got some groceries. She snuck some strawberries in while we were shopping. Lilah sure loves her strawberries.
Can you tell by this picture that we had a fun time?
Then we went home to David. I love that he loves to cuddle. I'll take a cuddle from my little boy any day!
