A couple of weeks ago one of my good friends, Amy, came down to visit. Her cute little family moved up to Hollister since her husband was a new grad and was offered a position up there. I woke up early and headed out there in my scrubs before work. So glad I was able to meet with all the girls. We sure miss Amy. She was always getting us all together. I seriously need to be better about inviting friends over. I feel that there are still so many things that we need to do to our house to make it look presentable that we still have yet to have a party at our house (a year later!) Maybe I'll have to use Mike's birthday as an excuse!

Mission San Juan Capistrano
The Monson family came over to grandma's house for their spring break. We love when family comes and visits grandma because it means we'll be out and about having fun. This year we tagged along for their Mission trip. Since Conrad is in 4th grade and his mom is a (previous) school teacher, they decided to go and visit Mission San Juan Capistrano.
I LOVE old buildings more than anything. I love history and learning how people lived in the olden days. Such inventive, smart, hard working people. Seriously, what would they think of us and our selfie taking selves. I loved walking through the buildings and imagining the great parties that were at the mission, the nuns, the bells ringing.
The mission was really beautiful. All of it built with skill and hands. They learned how to skin animal skins and perfect the leather. How to dry fruits. I mean, unbelievable people! These are the bells that signified different things, time of the day, wedding, deaths. The little bell was used when a kid died, so sad.
This was part of the church that came down in an earth quake. It had huge ceilings. The only thing that remains of the building is walls and some stones.
The gardens were so beautiful too. I was kinda bummed they were setting up for an event so I couldn't take a picture of the whole garden. But here is a fountain with beautiful flowers.
Afterwards we went to Doheney beach. It was super cold but these brave girls went in most of the way. It was a cool beach for picnicking and stuff but not so great for swimming. We even met up with some friends who were camping on the other side of the beach. We have crossed off another California beach. So many more to go!
We ended the night at Café Rio and then headed for home.
Laguna beach sunset. Beach sunsets are my fave!

Quick date
We went out the other day to try and find a new church dress. It's so much harder shopping for boys. Mike will look through dresses, pick one, show it to me, and thinks that that's it, time to go home. I ended up giving up looking after half an hour after I realizing that shopping with a boy is just no fun, but cudos to him for trying to help
I'm still bumbed Mike said no to my black hat, I think it's cute. Maybe next time when he doesn't come with me
We were looking at headboards and I found him sleeping on the job.
