Happy Birthday Mike!
Mike has turned the big 2-8.. Yowza! Sapo verde to yoo! This year Mike's birthday fell on a Friday. Fridays for us are not like normal people's Fridays since we have to be up before sunrise the next day to get to work(yuck) so we couldn't go out of town like we wanted to initially. Mike's second option was to go out to dinner, but this boy is a family guy and there was no way he was celebrating without the rest of the clan (Love that about him) We decided to go to a little homey Italian place by his parent's house. It was family owned and every one was so nice. And the food wasn't bad at all! Thanks for birthday dinner #1 Ga and Papa!
Odin did a great job at entertaining us with his many, many expressions. He loves to make us all laugh, gotta love that boy!
For every birthday we have, Marcia makes us a Sunday dinner. It is the best present ever to have her share her delicious cooking skills with us. Every thing she makes is mouth watering. Thanks for having a birthday Mike, dinner was Deeelicious!
This boy has such a sweet momma! We love her to pieces. I'm glad to say it was a very Happy Birthday:)

3rd Anniversary
Wowsers! Has it really been 3 years already? Time flies when you're having fun. And when you're both at school and working. So many fun and exciting things happened this year I couldn't imagine sharing them with anyone other than my best friend. Mike has either learned to put up with me, or we're really becoming the best of friends. I can't imagine someone would love me so much other than my mother. Seriously this boy makes me feel so pretty even If I just rolled out of bed. Someone tricked him into thinking I'm the smartest prettiest girl around, ha! Got you fooled! I hope he never takes the blinders off! The day of our anniversary I had worked a night shift, so I got home around 7:30AM and found this sitting on our dresser.
My favorite is the wrapping job and home made Anniversary card:)
I'm really big on drinking water all the time and I had gone through all of my water bottles already so he bought me a fancy shmancy water bottle which I love. Oh and I've also been wanting a Magic Bullet since I'm always making myself smoothies in the morning, I just never realized he paid attention every time I drooled over it at the store. Sneaky!
I was so tired that day and Mike was tired too from long day at work the day prior, that we decided to keep things low key. When he came home from work I made him a nice dinner.
He was supposed to go to mutual that night but I was a little brat and made him stay home with me to watch a movie :)
I'm so in love with this guy and I'm so lucky that he chose me to be his wife. He is the most humblest, hard working, self less boy I know and is always there to help anyone out from church without even being asked. He is such a great son and brother. I can't wait for him to one day be a great daddy also :)
Fourth of July
This year for fourth of July my mom wasn't here to celebrate with us and Michael's family was in Texas visiting family so it was just the two of us. That morning we slept in and when we woke up we thought we had missed our little town parade, but we made it just in time to be there for the start of it.
I thought it was really cool how these jeeps all climbed on top of each other. Those would definitely make really fun off roading toys.
Then came our local marching band. We had some little friends in the band and it was nice watching them. Reminded me of being in the band and what a blast I had. I was such a band geek, hehe.
Here are the girl scouts, I thought they were all so cute I had to snap a picture.
And our local boyscouts, ofcourse.
The parade ended at the YMCA and Mike and I went over and bought some nachos and hotdogs. It was either the most delicious hot dog ever or we were just hungry from not having breakfast.
In the afternoon we decided to go to the University of Redlands fireworks show. Every year since we've been married we've gone to different places to see the fireworks. One of these years we'll decide which one we like best.
Apparently you had to get there at the crack of dawn if you wanted to lay out on the field with your blankets and picnic. If we ever come again we'll know to get there extra early.
There were so many people there I couldn't believe it. First the show started with a tribute to the flag.
These airplanes kept flying SO close to us it was awesome!
Perhaps my very favorite part of the whole thing were the sky divers. We literally watched as they jumped off the plane and landed right at our feet, it was amazing! If that was me I would've ended up hanging on some tree or pole, these guys were definitely professionals.
It was so cool to see the airplanes flying so low. The announcer said that only a true professional could find the University of Redlands from the sky as it is so teeny tiny to find.
People kept coming and coming. We saw alot of our friends from church.
Then they had a live band playing while we waited for the show to start and we ate our funnel cakes, yum!
Just the two of us :)
It was so fun when the lights were all out and you could see everyone's lights at night.
And then there was the funnest fireworks show I've ever seen. It was really a treat to see fireworks I'd never seen before.
I'm so grateful to live in this amazing country and have so many freedoms that I too often take for granted. I'm definitely lucky my parents moved across the border because I imagine my life wouldn't be as great and I wouldn't have had the same opportunities that I have had so far. I got a little teary eyed thinking of all the blessings I have from being a Mexican American girl and for all of those daddies and mommies who leave their families to fight for my freedom.
It was such a great and happy Fourth of July.
Just me and my favorite boy :)
