New Year 2011

This New Years Eve I had to work. That's the bad thing about working at a hospital, Patients don't take holidays from being sick. Oh well.. double time made up for it.. I guess. Since I got out at 11 I came over to mom and dads to meet with Mike. We watched the New Years Eve count down in NYC and ate snacks.

Christmas 2011

Christmas this year came by all too fast! Between trying to stay on track of things at school, YW, and work, i didn't prepare as much as I would've liked to. Mike started the christmas spirit by putting up the lights with Joel. I thought I took a picture of that but I don't know where it went on my phone. This year we went to celebrate with my moms side of the family. I wished I could be in two places at once but unfortunatly there's only one of me.

This year we started Christmas Eve Day by making tamales, our family tradition.

Later on that night some of us opened presents so we could wear them that night:)

Then we got all dolled up and headed to Mexicali to meet my mom's side of the family.

There, we hung out with family, ate, laughed, ate, blew fireworks, hung around the bon fire, oh and we ate some more.

Some of the little kids opened some presents. I love little kids opening presents from Santa and how excited their little faces are. I can't wait for the day Mike and I get to play Santa with our kids.

Mike and I had a very fun time together. I love how great he is with my family and how he tries to talk spanish with them. My family loves to use their English skills with him.

We counted down to to midnight and at 12AM we yelled "Feliz Navidad" and ofcourse we did the Mexican thing and all shared hugs with all my aunts and uncles.

We decided to come home shortly after midnight so we wouldn't make so much time at the border. We only did like 30 minutes, it was a world record. When we came home and opened the gifts under our tree.

Mike and I came back Sunday and hung out with Ann and Elizabeth's families. We were able to be part of the nativity with the little ones. Oh man was that funny, I mean I mean, very spiritual.

Evan and Gracie made a very cute Mary and Joseph. Millie made for a very..Energetic lamby. and then the rest of the kids joined in with the fun. I love the Nativity Tradition :)

I'm so thankful for this past year that i've had to spend with my wonderful husband. The longer we live together the more deeply I fall in love with him. I'm grateful for the amazing family I have and the amazing family I married into.. Talk about being lucky. I'm thankful for a year of Health and Happiness and I hope that this next year will be full of news like the past year has been. Merry Christmas!!
