Old Town SD

A couple of weeks ago my mom Mike and I met at SD temple for a morning session. She had alot of fun and wanted to do it again. So last week we met as SD to do a session and hang out the rest of the day. I took a day off work for the first time and it was way worth it. After the temple my mom wanted to go to El Torito so my bro and sis could try it out. It was delicious as usual. Then we went to the Mormon Batallion. I'd never been and thought it was great. Then we went and walked around and bought lots of candy and goodies. We had a great day and laughed the whole time. We definately have to repeat it again. It's a good excuse for seeing my Holtville Family.

Upgrade

Now that Michael and I have been married for sooo long (hehe) we have really learned to share alot. One of those things was mike's truck. My mom took my car since I decided mine was about to fall apart on me and I had borrowed her car for long enough. It haden't really been a struggle to have one car, mostly cause I drove it around all day haha. But Michael was very nice about it and didn't complain...too much. But about 3 weeks ago we went on a hunt for a car. Mike's job was to find one that worked well and was a good deal, and my job was to say if it was pretty or not. Finally after many phone calls and looking at lots of cars on Autotrader we found a car we both liked. It was really exciting yet scary to buy such a big purchase. I've never had a car payment before so it's a little intimidating. But i guess that's part of growing up.

San Manuel

Lately Mike and I have been working on trying to make our back yard look like a back yard. Our front yard is now starting to get green and our back yard is coming alive once again. I have started a little vegetable garden, I will post some pictures later on. But yesterday Mike and I decided to put the yard work aside and go out on a date. We went and had dinner at Mi Tortilla, I'd never been there before but It was pretty good. After dinner we decided to go and check out our next door neighbor, the San Manuel Indio Casino. Mike wanted to walk there, yeah right. The casino wasn't so bad, pretty stinky, ofcourse. But they had a couple of things to do like buffet, free live music, and slot machines. We spent the first 5 dollars playing two 5 cent slot machines and didn't win anything. In las vegas we usually play for like 30 minutes with 5 dollars. So I asked Mike to take out more money so we could play a little more. So we got 5 dollars each. We walked around for alittle bit and found some machines to play so we both sat down and put our money in. Little did we know they weren't 5 cent machies but 5 dollar machines. Hahaha you should've seen Mike's face, it was so funny. That's what we get for not reading carefully. So we spinned a wheel for $5 and that was it! :D I thought it was very funny, Michael, well not so much. I posted a pic of Me being sad about the dumb machine taking all my money. Mike says he's never going there ever again, but we'll see.

Mutual

If you probably didn't know I was called as the YW 2nd councelor. I went to church on Sunday the bishop came over Thursday and by the next Sunday I was in young women's. Being in YW has definately been interesting. I've been trying to figure out how to be their friend and leader at the same time. Mostly because they're so close in age. But it's cool when they come up to me for advice and stuff, and actually listen to what I say. I guess since I relate to them and know what they're going through it's easy to give advice now that i'm on the other side. I haven't been able to be there at Mutual very much because of work but the girls are really cool. Two weeks ago we had a service car wash at church. It was way fun. Everyone had a blast. I posted some pictures of some of the youth.Almost all the girls came. Oh and EveryOne got wet. I ALMOST got away with it but right as we were leaving some one got me.Being in YW will definately be a learning experience, I'll just have to keep working on not being confused as a youth and trying not to goof off too much.

Bike ride to the Beach

So Mike and I had been wanting to ride our bikes to the beach and finally the opportunity came up, Marcia told us her ward was going on a beach trip and we decided to tag along. We weren't sure what time, where or what but we just showed up with bikes. It turned out to be pretty fun, we were supposed to ride like 31 miles to beach but thankfully we started at a Yorba Linda Park so it was only 21 miles. It was alot of fun. The ride was easy and flat. Mike and I got to talk to each other for 2.5 hours... We kind of joked around, laughed, chatted, annoyed each other, got happy again, and overall it was a blast, a very tyring blast:) On one of the pictures i posted you can see Michael being mad at me, it was funny so I took a picture of him on action. The first 1.5 hours of the trip were all fine and dandy, the next thirty minutes it started to get tiring and we were kind of hungry. We didn't really plan all that well since we just kind of showed up at last minute. Thankfully I had a small little bag of check mix in my back pack that I very lovingly shared with my hungry husband. The last hour my knees were feeling it and I got a flat. We were about a mile out from the beach but we had to stop by the gas station for air because my flat had gotten real bad. Michael had the bright idea of leaving his wallet behind in the truck and I figured I didn't need mine since Mike always has his. So when we got to the gas station the guy said we had to pay .75 since we werent gas customers, and we had nothing, so we decided to walk to the next gas station but the gasoline guy called us back. By the time we got back to the air pump it was about to turn off but i got enough air to make it to the beach. I was pretty tired once i got there and there wasn't any food, about 30 later they started to boil water for corn. it was the most delicious corn i've ever had! later on we found out they used ocean salty water. Alot of us were confused to hear that but were to busy stuffing our faces with corn. Later on they made hot dogs. I would definately like to go back and do it again, except this time i'll take an extra pump and mike's wallet (notice I didn't say my own mwahaha)

Huntington Beach

Our Honey moon was a well deserved relaxing fun vacation. Mike and I had alot of fun all day everyday after our wedding. There was so much stuff to do at Huntgington and the weather was so great. First of all our Hotel was pretty nice which was a good thing. It was comfortable, pretty, had a good view, and the receptionists were very nice and helpful. The first day of being there we had breakfast at Ihop. After that we wanted to go to the Pacific Aquarium and found some 50% coupons online which our downstairs receptionist hooked us up with which was pretty nice, We hung out at the aquarium for a couple of hours and had lunch there and walked around and did pretty much everything you could do other than watching a little kid 3D movie. After the aquarium we went shopping for some souveniers and then headed out to the bay. It was very nice there were tons of stores and restaurants and alot of fun things to do there. When it was getting too cold we went back to the Hotel and had dinner at California's pizza. (we did tons of delicious eating during that week ;) The next day we went to Disneyland and celebrated Mike's birthday. Mike got a pretty good deal for his birthday this year, a wedding party, a honey moon, a grill, and a new wifey, man how lucky of him. The next day we decided we wanted to go shill at the beach, ofcourse it was Huntington and a must. It was pretty shilly so we just picnicked, rented bikes, ate* it was a really fun day. The last day of the honey moon I really wanted to go Kayaking so Mike found a place close by. Kayaking was alot of fun, mostly because I was just chilling and Mike was doing all the work, okay i would help out sometimes too. It was all fun and games until we got lost for a little while heading back. All water apparently looks the same. After finally finding our way back to the Kayaking dude (thank goodness) We finally made our way back home, that is after we stopped to get something to eat ofcourse. Huntington was alot of fun and hopefully Mike and I can go back again soon. He says he wants us to ride our bikes there sometime, so if you ever get a desperate call from me to come pick me up in the middle of somewhere, please do so

Life is Fantastic

Everything leading up to the wedding was alot of fun. Going through the temple for the first time with all my family felt pretty awsome. We had a great time hanging out together and it was fun how every one got along so well. After going to the Las Vegas Temple to receive my endowments we went to eat at a buffet and then we headed to Mandalay Bay Casino to watch the Lion King. I had seen The Phantom of the opera before but that was the only musical I'd been to and I sat so far behind that I couldn't even see the miniature actors and I didn't enjoy it very much BUT Lion King was fantastic! Man, I was smiling the whole time. I definetely want to see more shows now, hopefully in the future. Well, things are all settled down now. I miss the wedding crazyness mostly because I didn't do much, I just enjoyed it. And enojyed it I did. I loved that I had an excuse to travel somewhere every month and Mike didn't rumble about it because I would tell them that were getting free stuff, and the word free was enough to convince him. I love all the gifts I got for getting married, I mean it's already awsome that I'm getting married to an amazing guy and on top of that I get gifts from people for doing that, it was pretty sweet. I'm so glad that with everyone's help Mike and I had a blast. But now that the wedding is over there are new things to look forward too. Mike loves working around the house. He gets very excited about putting in new stuff and replacing the old. He gets a little too excited sometimes and wants to work on so many projects but I nicely remind him that he's not allowed to go any where near Lowes until he's done with the sprinklers, electrical plugs, front yard.. etc etc :)Now that we live together it's great that we get to spend more time with each other. It hasen't been as weird as I thought it would be. I haven't woken up and screamed in the middle of the night because theres a weird guy on my bed BUT it has been quite funny sleeping with Mike, he's a pretty crazy sleeper. The other night I woke up and he was standing on the side of the bed, I asked him what he was doing and he said he was trying to take a picture, my reaction was "what??" then he's like "yeah I need to take the picture already" I was really trying not to laugh so hard because I was having too much fun with him and didn't want to wake him up but then I told him to turn the lights on cause I wanted to go back to bed, he replied that he couldn't because I had to see how the picture turned out first. I think all the wedding photoshoots got to him or something. Too funny.

First Shoppers

Mike and I had a fun weekend. In the morning I cleaned up around the house and then went and met the boys at the Elders quorum activity. I didn't get the memo that there weren't any girls there but thankfully I got there late and it was only Mike Erick and I in the swimming pool. After the swimming party, Walt and Mike moved out all of my appliances from my apartment. It felt great... FREEDOM. I'm so excited to be out of that apartment and into my new home. After we got things all put away we decided to go to Sams Club. We got there pretty late and got kicked out so then we went to staters. It was really interesting to go shopping with Mike since I'm so used to going to the store and only getting stuff I like. We booth compromise well though. I realized it's a little pricy starting off from scratch but slowly but surely our pantry and cabinets are filling up. Our little home is feeling more and more like a Stewart home now;)

House Warming

I'm so excited about our new house. With some work and help from my amazing inlaws it is now a home. Mike and I started painting it the weekend after we got our keys but then we decided that the color was too peachy and I found some old paint from the past owners and it was semi gloss so we had to go back and prime the walls. So i took another trip to Lowes, got another color, and Marcia came over and took care of buisness. She primed and painted our living room in no time. Things are working out just in time for our wedding. I can't believe it's only 3.5 more weeks until our wedding and i have to live with a boy... Ahhhh! I guess i'll get used to it eventually. I have had a great time decorating our house and my wonderful husband-to-be has let me do whatever I want to it. Hopefully when things settle down a bit I can start on my little garden. I really want some veggies but we'll see if I can get something to grow. We still have two more rooms to paint, I decided the office and our room can stay the same color. Our house was renovated about a year ago so everything is in great shape. There's a nice patio in the back to have barbecues in. I can't wait. Michael makes me so happy!I'll post some before and afters of our living room. I still haven't painted the other rooms and my master room is still getting fixed so there'll be some later pictures.

Wedding Madness

One more month until our wedding! I have been trying to start this blog but for one reason or another (the internet freezing, the website logging me off, being lazy) I haven't done it. But maybe one day i'll be good. Well the past months have gone by waaay fast. All the driving, partying, and shopping have been fabulous. At one point it was hard juggling work, school, wedding and new house but now we're only down to the wedding and ofcourse making my house look pretty. Thanks every one for all the help, I'm glad you guys have kept me from running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Well now that we have a house it's been fun putting all those great gifts away that we got, it's like Christmas times five. I'm so glad that Mike was prepared and we were able to buy a house, a very pretty one. I'll put up pictures of our house projects later on but above are a few pics from some of the bridals, enjoy
